Stalin demands high level, impartial inquiry into farmers death at Lakhimpur Kheri

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K.Stalin has in a tweet on Tuesday called for a high-level, impartial inquiry into the incident at Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh which claimed the lives of nine people including that of a journalist.

Stalin also condemned the custody and arrest of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who had visited Lakhimpur Kheri to inquire about the incident.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in the tweet said, “ The attack on the farmers protesting against the farm laws is highly condemnable and I demand an impartial, high-level investigation into the death of farmers. Perpetrators of this cruel act must be punished legally.”

The incident took place on October 3 when a couple of SUVs of Union minister Ajay Misra’s convoy had run into the protesting farmers who were waving black flags to the Union minister as part of their anti farm laws protest.

BJP leader Kushbhu Sundar also protested the tragic incident at Lakhimpur Kheri. The VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan protested against the incident and the arrest of Priyanka Gandhi.
