Chennai, Oct 27 (BPNS)

The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader and Member of Parliament, Thol Thirumavalavan has said that the Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi calling a meeting of  Vice-Chancellors of Tamil Nadu Universities is to be opposed. In a statement on Wednesday, he said that the Governor was trying to politically interfere in the Governance of Tamil Nadu.

Thol Thirumavalavan also objected to the Governor seeking report from the state Chief secretary regarding the welfare schemes of the government. He called upon the DMK government of the state to resist the Governor’s attempts and urged the state government to protect the rights of the people of Tamil Nadu.

It is to be noted that VCK is a coalition partner of the political front headed by the DMK and had fought the general elections and assembly elections together.

VCK leader said that the party would conduct awareness programmes across the state to educate people on the moves of the Governor and the political interference on the policies and programmes of an elected government.

The VCK is a political party with a strong support base among the Dalit people of the state.
