Kerala recorded 51,570 fresh Covid -19 cases on Sunday with 14 new deaths also reported. The state health minister’s office in a statement said that in 24 hours 1,03,366 samples were tested and detected 51,570 fresh Covid -19 cases.
5,27,362 people are under observation in various areas of the state on Sunday. Of this 5,14,734 are under home quarantine while 12,628 people are admitted in hospitals.
The total deaths in the state due to Covid -19 has touched 53,666 including the 14 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours on Sunday.
The statement also said that 47,776 people contracted the disease through contact. 439 health workers were also infected with the disease in the state on Sunday.
Ernakulam with 9704 fresh cases tops the list of fresh cases on Sunday followed by Thrissur with 7289 cases. Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital, recorded 5746 fresh cases, Kottayam 3889, Kozhikode 3872 cases, Kollam 3836, Palakkad reported 3412 fresh cases while Alappuzha has 2861 and Malappuram 2796 fresh cases. Pathanamthitta reported 2517 fresh cases, Kannur 1976 cases while Idukki reported 1566, Wayanad 1388 cases, and Kasargod 769 fresh cases on Sunday.
