Nagaland Government seeks land from TN for constructing Nagaland House

Nagaland Government has requested Tamil Nadu government for land in Chennai for constructing a Nagaland house. Public Works Minister of Nagaland, Tongpang Ozhukum met Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at the Secretariat on Monday and requested him to provide land for Nagaland to construct a Nagaland House in the state.

According to a senior officer of the Tamil Nadu government who is privy to the development, the Nagaland Government is planning a house in Tamil Nadu due to the large number of people from the state reaching Tamil Nadu and other South Indian states for education and job. Another major point is the large number of people from the North-East state reaching Tamil Nadu for treatment at Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore.

It is to be noted that states like Odisha, Assam, and Union Territory of Puducherry have government guest houses in Chennai.

Special Secretary in Nagaland Home department, S.R. Saravanan, K. Thavaseelan IAS who is posted in Nagaland and other senior officers were present along with the Nagaland PWD Minister, Tongpang Ozhukum.
