Judicial first class magistrate court in Ernakulam has granted the three accused in the infamous human sacrifice case, Shafi, Bhaval Singh and Laila in police custody for 12 days. The court directed the police not to use any third degree measures on the accused.
Shafi (52), Bhaval Singh (68) and Laila (59) were arrested by the police on Monday and remanded to judicial custody.
The first class judicial magistrate also directed the police to cover the faces of the accused. Advocate B.R. Alur who appeared for the accused said that the police had used third degree measures on his clients and that the confession was extracted out of the accused using third degree methods.
The court however set aside the argument of the accused and granted all three, police custody for twelve days.
