Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 27 (BPNS)

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has produced a closure report before the Thiruvananthapuram Chief Judicial Magistrate court giving a clean chit to senior Congress leader Adoor Prakash in the Solar sex scandal. Prakash is now a Member of Parliament from the Attingal constituency in Thiruvananthapuram and was the minister during the period of the Solar sex scandal.

The petitioner, a woman had complained that Adoor Prakash in his capacity as a minister in the Oommen Chandy cabinet had sought sexual favours from her and that he had booked an air ticket to her and lodging and had sexually abused her.

However, the CBI in its report stated that the claim could not be proved and that Adoor Prakash had not provided a ticket to her as well as no room was booked by him for her.

Another allegation of the woman, that Adoor Prakash had sexually abused her in the personal room in Pathanamthitta Pramanam stadium. The CBI in its report before the court said that this claim was also false and that such an incident had not occurred.

The premier investigation agency in the report stated that it had cross-checked and questioned several people and arrived at the conclusion that the charges do not stand and that the agency gave a clean chit to the Congress leader.

Adoor Prakash while speaking to media persons said that truth and justice had prevailed and thanked god for the clean chit from the premier investigation agency.

It may be recalled that young Congress leader and Member of Parliament from Ernakulam, Hybi Eden was also given a clean chit by the CBI in another allegation of sexual abuse leveled by the same woman.
