TN Human Rights Commission reconstituted

The Tamil Nadu government has posted former Judge of Madras High Court, Justice (Rtd) Raja Elango and Advocate Kannadasan as members of the Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission (TNHRC).

The Tamil Nadu government has posted former Judge of Madras High Court, Justice (Rtd) Raja Elango and Advocate Kannadasan as members of the Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission (TNHRC).

The decision was taken in the selection committee at the selection committee meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday in Chennai.  Justice Raja Elango was a judge of the Madras High Court and later served in Andhra Pradesh High Court and later in Telangana High Court.

Justice Raja Elango had earlier served as  the state  Public prosecutor.

Advocate Kannadasan hails from Myladuthurai in Tamil Nadu and has more than thirty years of experience as a practicing lawyer. He has worked as a civil, criminal, and human rights lawyer and was an expert in prisoner rights issues. He served as a public prosecutor for human rights cases from 2006 to 2011.

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin headed the meeting constituted to select the Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission, members. Tamil Nadu assembly speaker, M. Appavu also participated in the meeting.
