TN Minorities Commission Vice-Chairman Dr.Masthan passes away

Tamil Nadu Minorities Commission Vice-Chairman and former Member of Parliament, Dr.Masthan passed away on Thursday. He was 66.

Tamil Nadu Minorities Commission Vice-Chairman and former Member of Parliament, Dr.Masthan passed away on Thursday. He was 66.

The senior leader of the DMK passed away in Chennai due to a massive cardiac arrest.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin in a condolence message posted on his Twitter handle expressed shock at the sudden passing away of Dr. Masthan and expressed deep condolences on his demise.

Stalin in his condolence message said that Dr. Masthan had a special love for him and that as the DMK Minorities wing secretary, his work was exemplary and added that he was unmatched in hosting Iftar parties.

The Chief Minister also said, “I have lost a field worker who stood not only for the welfare of the minorities but for everyone.”

He also said that Dr. Masthan had met him recently to invite to the betrothal of his son. Stalin also said that Masthan was a humanist and a sincere party worker engaged in social service and said that this was an irreparable loss.

It may be noted that Dr. Masthan was a member of the Rajya Sabha during 1995-2001 as an AIADMK leader and later joined the DMK and was active in its minority wing. Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin had nominated him to be the Vice-Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Minorities Commission.
