Actor Siddharth has alleged that his parents were harassed by the security personnel at Madurai airport on Tuesday.

The actor who has done commendable performances in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi movies has taken to his Instagram handle and shared a story on it stating,” Harassed for 20 mins @ Madurai airport by CRPF. They made my senior parents remove coins from their bags!. And repeatedly talked to us in Hindi after being told to speak in English. Rude AF.  When we protested they said in India this is how it is. Jobless people showing off power”

The actor has inadvertently written as CRPF even as the security of airports in the country is being handled by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

The Instagram post of the actor went viral with several supporting Sidharth and many supporting CISF also.

In a related development, Madurai MP, Su Venkitesan in a tweet said,” I have requested the @aaimduairport (Madurai Airport authorities)to conduct an inquiry into the allegations of actor Siddharth about the improper conduct of CISF personnel in Madurai airport who demanded to be spoken to in Hindi.”

It may be noted that Siddharth is likely to share screen space with actor Madhavan after Rang De Basanti and is currently working in Shankar’s Indian 2. The actor was seen in an OTT web series titled, “Escaype Live”.

Siddharth had entered into controversy earlier over a tweet about ace Indian shuttler, Saina Nehwal which was termed derogatory, and the actor had to issue an apology.
