Ajith’s ‘Thunivu’ to clash with Vijay’s ‘ Varisu’ from tomorrow

Wednesday will be a major day for the fans of Ajith Kumar and Vijay as the movies of both superstars of the Tamil film industry will release on that day

Wednesday will be a major day for the fans of Ajith Kumar and Vijay as the movies of both superstars of the Tamil film industry will release on that day. Almost all the seats for the two movies till Sunday, Pongal day sold out, according to the theater owners.

Its after nine long years that the two superstars have clashed with each other. In 2014, Vijay’s ‘ Jilla’ and Ajith’s ‘ Veeram’ were released on the same day.

Thunivu is Ajith’s third movie with ace director H. Vinoth. The movie which is based on a heist has Malayalam lady superstar, Manju Warrier as an accomplice to Ajith. The movie produced by Boney Kapoor has Nirav Shah wielding the camera. Tamil character actor, Samudrakani along with Bhagavathi Perumal and Prem are also in the movie.

Vamshi Padipalli, the known  Telugu director has directed the movie ‘Varisu’ in which Vijay plays the hero. Rashmika Mandhana is playing the lady lead in the movie which is billed as a family, drama, and action entertainer. Prabhu, Sharath Kumar, Khushbu, Prakash Raj, Yogi Babu, S.J. Surya, and Samyuktha Shanmuganathan are playing major roles in the movie.

The movie is produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under the banner Sri Venkateshwara Creations. The cinematography is by Karthik Palani while the music is by S. Thaman.

Rakesh Gowthaman of Vettri theaters in Chennai told media persons  that the tickets have been sold out from Wednesday till Sunday (Pongal Day) in advance bookings alone. He said that it was a great sign and said that there are more holidays next week in lieu of Maatu Pongal and Kaanum Pongal. The theater owners expect a huge collection during the Pongal period.

He said that it would be a victory for the entertainment industry in Tamil Nadu.

In Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, the tickets for both ‘Thunivu’ and ‘Varisu’ are sold out in almost all the theaters in the city. Reports from Kochi and Kozhikode- the two major cities of Kerala, state that the tickets are all sold out for both movies.
