Tamil Nadu Governor, R.N. Ravi who is in the midst of a raging controversy after he skipped certain portions from the written text of his speech and also addressed Tamil Nadu as ‘Tamizhagam’ is leaving for New Delhi for a one-day meet. The Governor will be returning back on January 14th as the biggest festival of Tamil Nadu, the Pongal falls from January 15th to 18th.

It is to be noted that the Governor had skipped two paragraphs in the written speech which were highlighting the Dravidian model of governance. The written text of the speech was also lauding the contribution of Periyar, Dr. Ambedkar, Annadurai, and Kalaignar Karunanidhi. However, he had read about Kalaignar in a different sentence.

The Governor had abruptly gone out of the house when the Chief Minister moved a resolution seeking to remove the portions read out by the Governor and was passed by the house.

This led to the Governor walking out of the house without waiting for the customary National Anthem.

A group of senior DMK leaders led by party parliamentary party leader and former Union Minister, T.R. Baalu had met the President of the country, Draupadi Murmu. However, there are no official reports on what transpired between the President and the DMK team led by T.R. Baalu.
