The wild elephant menace continues in Tamil Nadu with a wild tusker in the Nilgiris district trampling a person to death. The incident occurred on Sunday morning.
The deceased person is identified as Shivanandhi who was on his way to work on a farm. The elephant attacked him near the farm on Sunday early morning.
The menace of wild animals including elephants, tigers, leopards, and wild boars reaching human settlements continues in The Nilgiris. Local people have raised complaints to the government about the inaction of forest department in settling the issue of wild animals attacking humans.
With the death of Sivanandi local people have decided to conduct protest march towards the Nilgiris district administration office on Monday for a permanent solution to the wild animal menace.
