A 28-year-old doctor after a tip-off with his girlfriend, also a medico, burnt his Mercedes Benz car.
Kevin, the 28-year-old doctor from Dharmpuri studied at a private medical college in Kancheepuram and was in a relationship with a medical student in the same college. The incident occurred after the doctor and his girlfriend after a ride in the car in Kancheepuram and stopped the car near a pond in Rajakulam village.
The young doctor then took out an empty bottle, filled it with petrol in the vehicle, poured it over the car, and burnt it. While his girlfriend pleaded to stop him from burning down the car, Kevin did not listen to her and burnt the car.
Local people at Rajakulam, after seeing car in flames, informed the local police who promptly arrived along with the fire and rescue personnel. The fire was put out after battling for more than an hour.
The car was completely damaged in the fire and the Kancheepuram taluk police registered a case against Kevin. He was later let out on station bail.
