Super Star of the South Indian film industry and founder president of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), Kamal Haasan will be campaigning for the Congress candidate, EVKS Elangovan at Erode East constituency on February 19th.
The Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) leader has already announced his support for the DMK-led alliance candidate for the Erode East by-election.
It may be noted that Kamal Haasan had met Rahul Gandhi during his Bharat Jodo yatra in New Delhi and had walked with him for a few kilometers on an invitation from the Congress party.
In the 2021 assembly elections, Makkal Needhi Maiam candidate A.M.R. Rajkumar received 10005 votes and the support extended by the MNM will be crucial for the Congress candidate EVKS Elangovan in the by-polls to be held on February 27.
Kamal Haasan is a crowd puller and his campaign on February 19th for the Congress candidate will help the party candidate garner votes.
