The CPI-M Kerala state secretary, M.V. Govindan has said that there was no party probe against the senior leader and state left front convenor, E.P. Jayarajan. He was responding to media persons at Palakkad on Sunday.
The CPI-M state secretary said that there were no allegations against E.P. Jayarajan and the reports emanating from the media contrary to this were false. He said that the media was making stories on allegations against Jayarajan and that these were not true.
It may be recalled that there were reports on E.P. Jayarajan speaking emotionally during the CPI-M state committee meeting held at the party state headquarters on Friday and Saturday. There were reports of another senior leader and party state committee member, P. Jayarajan accusing E.P. Jayarajan and his family of owning a huge resort in the Kannur district of Kerala and that the investment had come from corrupt money.
While E.P. Jayarajan came out in public stating that there were no allegations against him in the party state committee, there were media reports that the CPI-M has constituted a committee to investigate the allegation. This has now been ruled out by the CPI-M state secretary, M.V. Govindan.
