TN man celebrates anniversary of quitting drinking by pasting posters of achievement

A 52-year-old man from Chengalpattu in Tamil Nadu who was addicted to alcohol for 32 continuous years resolved to quit the habit of drinking but he was so addicted to liquor that he could not fructify it. 

The middle-aged man, Manoharan however decided to quit drinking on February 26, 2022.  He celebrated the one year of his feat by pasting posters of the achievement and the benefits of quitting liqour consumption. His photos were also pasted with the posters across the village.

Manoharan hailing from Bhathavalchalam nagar in Palur, Chengalpattu told media persons that in the past 32 years, there was not a single day he had not consumed alcohol. He said that he used to spend a minimum of 400 rupees per day on the drinking habit and had to even sell a piece of land for the same.

On Sunday, Manoharan decided to celebrate it and wanted to share the benefits of quitting drinking with society including his friends and relatives. He struck posters across the walls in the village and his expenses for designing and making the posters were sponsored by a neigbhour who wanted to encourage the good efforts of Manoharan.
