Madras Medical Mission host the 22nd edition of the National Annual Medical Records Conference – MEDRECON 2023

Chennai. The National Annual Medical Records Conference – MEDRECON -2023 – was inaugurated today at the Madras Medical Mission. It is hosted by the Department of Medical Records, MMM on the 3rd and 4th March ’23.

The theme for MEDRECON 2023 is ‘Laws governing privacy, confidentiality, safety of patient medical records and Health Information Management.

Dr.Madhu Raikwar, DDG & Director Government of India, Central Bureau of Health Intelligence, Date. General of Health Services Said “Medical records are the document that explains all detail about the patient’s history, clinical findings, diagnostic test results, pre and postoperative care, patient’s progress and medication. Medical records are the one of
the most important aspect on which practically almost every medico-legal battle is won or lost”

“The traditional method of keeping records that is followed in most of the hospitals across India is the manual method. There are serious limitations of manual record keeping including the need for large storage areas and difficulties in the retrieval of records. The present era has seen the computerization of medical records that are neat and tidy, and can be easily stored and retrieved,” he added.

While Mr.M.M.Philip, Hon. Secretary, The Madras Medical Mission, introduce the Chief Guest, .Dr. K. Latchumanadhas, Head of the Catheterization Laboratory, MMM release the MEDRECON-2023 souvenir.

Mr. Suresh Carleton, President-HERA-I explained the vision of conference.

Dr.Dinesh Kumar, Sr.Consultant Aneasthesia and Medical Superintendent-MMM, welcomed the gathering and Mr. V. Ravi Chandran, HOD-Medical Records-MMM delivered the Vote of thanks.

There will be prominent speakers from outside the country, along with those in the Indian healthcare industry at the Conference.

MEDRECON 2023 is being conducted in association with the Health Records Association of India (HERA-I).

The HERA-I is the national association of medical records professionals which works for the legislative and legal validity of the profession and promote continuous education among healthcare professionals. It serves medical record professionals through knowledge sharing at the MEDRECON conferences they organize annually.
