Chennai, Mar 9 (BPNS)
Even as the Tamil Nadu BJP state President and former IPS officer,K. Annamalai has been making tall claims of his party’s euphoric growth in the state, 13 more IT cell office bearers of the party have left the BJP.
This include party’s Chennai West District Information Technology Unit Chief , Orathi Anbarasu left the party on Wednesday. 10 secretaries and 2 vice presidents of the Chennai West District IT division have resigned from the party. All the leaders who have resigned from the party are likely to join the AIADMK in the foot steps of party IT Cell president CTR Nirmal Kumar and IT Cell state secretary, Dilip Kannan resigning from the saffron party and joining the AIADMK.
The BJP state president, K. Annamalai had stated that the BJP can also poach from the other side and added that AIADMK taking BJP leaders into its fold is a sign that BJP was growing in Tamil Nadu.
The BJP IT Cell Chennai West District secretary Orathi Anbarasu after leaving the BJP in a statement said, “An unusual situation has prevailed in the party so far and for the past few days many people have been contacting me. Now I have to inform everyone about my situation. I have traveled with the BJP for many years. Everyone around me knows that party responsibility is only for a few years, and I am not a person looking for a position. I hope you all know my work. It amazes me how I have faced threats and complaints against me for so long.”
In the statement, he also said that he was not joining the DMK and that he do not want to fall into the mechanization of selfish people who had classified him as unworthy.
Orathi Anbarasu also said,” Respecting the thoughts of my dear brothers who are working with me in the party. It has been decided to travel along with our beloved CTR Nirmal Kumar.”
The resignation of 13 more leaders from the BJP is indeed a jolt to the saffron party even as the national leadership has commenced firefighting operations with party president, J.P. Nadda and party general secretary in charge of Tamil Nadu CT Ravi commencing discussions with AIADMK leader and party interim general secretary, Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS)
