The Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the CPI-M and the Congress which are fighting against each other in Kerala have united in Tripura against the BJP but the BJP won the polls. He was speaking in a public rally in Thrissur on Sunday.
The BJP leader who reached Thrissur on Sunday addressed a party office bearers meeting and then attended the public meeting. Amit Shah said that the Narendra Modi government had provided 1,15,000 crore rupees to Kerala in the past five years but the UPA government had provided only 45, 900 crore rupees.
He also said that the Union government had provided 8500 crore rupees for the Rural employment scheme in Kerala and had not given this much amount to any other state. The Union Home minister said that the Union government has provided 317 crore rupees for the development of Guruvayur temple.
Amit Shah said that the union government had given permission for a 50 MW solar power project in Kasargod district. He also added that for the second phase of development of Kochi Metro, an amount of Rs 1950 crore was sanctioned.
The Union home minister lashed out at the state government for not dousing the fire at the Brahampuram waste plant even after 11 days of fire burning emitting poisonous gases and making life miserable to the people of the region.
He also said that it was the Union Government that made Kerala secure by banning the Islamist outfit Popular Front of India but added that both Communists and Congress leaders would not agree to this.
Amit Shah said that for the development of Kerala , Congress and Communists cannot do anything.
He also said the Thrissur public programme is a preparatory programme for the 2024 loksabha elections and called upon the people of the state to ensure victory for BJP candidates from the state. The senior leader said that if Narendra Modi comes back to power in the country in the 2024 elections, Kerala and India will be taken forward.
The Union Minister reached Nedumbassery airport in Kochi and from there by helicopter to Thrissur.
