Prof Dr.S.Sivakumar, senior professor , Indian Law Institute, New Delhi and Former member of Law Commission of India has been elected as the President of Commonwealth Legal Education Association (CELA).
Prof Sivakumar is the second Indian to adorn this prestigious posting after the legal luminary , Prof .N.R.Madhava Menon.
He is a renowned legal scholar and academician with over two decades of experience in teaching and research and he has served in several leadership roles in the legal community. Prof Sivakumar has been India’s country representative for CLEA since 1997 and has been a member of the CLEA executive committee since 2003. In 2019 he has been elected the Vice President of CLEA.
At the national and international levels, Prof Sivakumar has driven change and growth, having taken on the responsibility of overseeing two international projects as the Honorary chairman of the Commonwealth Law Reform Commission (CLRC) and the Commonwealth Comparative Constitutional and Public Law project (3C&PL)
