Erode East MLA and senior Congress leader EVKS Elangovan hospitalized, Condition stable

Senior Congress leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Erode East constituency EVKS Elangovan was admitted to a private hospital following breathlessness on Wednesday late night in a private hospital at Porur , Chennai.

Senior Congress leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Erode East constituency EVKS Elangovan was admitted to a private hospital following breathlessness on Wednesday late night in a private hospital at Porur , Chennai.

A senior leader of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee told BPNS that the condition of Elangovan is stable and not to be worried about since Thursday morning.

The leader also told BPNS that he will be shifted to general ward and that now the oxygen level in his blood has returned to normalcy. The hospital authorities told BPNS that he will be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days’ time.

The hospital authorities also said that a medical bulleting is likely to be issued later in the day after respecting the privacy of the patient.

It may be noted that EVKS Elangovan in the recent by-election to Erode East assembly constituency defeated his nearest rival K.S. Thenarasu of the AIADMK by a margin of 66087 votes. The by-election to Erode East assembly constituency was necessitated following the sudden demise of sitting legislator,E. Thirumahan Everaa on January 4, 2023.  Thirumahan Everaa is the son of EVKS Elangovan and the Congress and DMK had provided the seat to him to fill the vacuum of his son.
