Ktaka elections : AIADMK withdraws its Pulikeshi nagar assembly candidate

The AIADMK general secretary, Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) has said that the party candidate for the Pulikeshni nagar assembly constituency in Karnataka for the May 10 assembly elections has withdrawn the candidature. This is following a request by the BJP leadership, EPS in a statement on Monday said.

The AIADMK candidate, D. Anbarasan from the Pulikeshi Nagar (SC) assembly seat has withdrawn his candidature after a request from the BJP national leadership in New Delhi.

Sources in AIADMK told BPNS that senior leaders of the BJP have called Edappadi K. Palaniswami directly and requested him to withdraw the AIADMK candidate from the seat. Anbarasan, it may be noted was pitted against BJP leader, Murali in a constituency that has a good presence of Tamil voters.
