Tamil Nadu Governor, R.N. Ravi on Monday appointed Dr. K. Narayanasamy as the Vice-Chancellor of the Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. It is to be noted that the Governor is the Chancellor of the University.
The posting is for a period of three years from the date of his assumption of office. The Dr. MGR Medical University deals with medical education in Tamil Nadu including the conduct of medical examinations and awarding of certificates to the students.
Dr. K. Narayanasamy is presently the Dean of Kilpauk Government Medical College Hospital and has 33 years of medical practice and 13 years of administrative experience.
He has served as Medical Superintendent, State nodal officer for various government schemes and has also served as Dean of Chengalpattu Government Medical College and also Dean of Madras Government Medical College.
Dr. Narayanasamy was in charge of the Government Covid hospital in Guindy during the pandemic and was awarded by the Government of Tamil Nadu for his contribution to the state during the pandemic days.
