A special court in Karnataka’s Davangere district has awarded 20 years of imprisonment to a man for raping his daughter.
The Davanagere District and Sessions’ Court Pocso Fast Track Special Court passed the order on Wednesday. The father raped daughter at his sheet home located close to the national highway. He continued to exploit her for a long time.
The villagers who came to know about the horrific incident had informed the police. Harihara Rural police had registered the case and submitted a charge sheet against the accused to the court.
The judge N. Sripada ordered 20 years of imprisonment and Rs 12,000 fine to the accused father and also directed the government to provide Rs 5 lakh compensation for the victim. Public prosecutor Sunanda Madivalara and K.G. Jayappa argued for the victim.
