Odisha train accident : 3 of the eight missing TN passengers in Coromandel traced

Two people of the eight who were not communicable from among the eight who had reserved tickets in Coromandel were traced. 

Chennai, June 4 (BPNS)

Two people of the eight who were not communicable from among the eight who had reserved tickets in Coromandel were traced.  The two identified are Narayani Gopi (34) and A. Jagadeesan (47) from Tamil Nadu.

Another Tamil person, Kamal who had also booked ticket in the  Shalimar- Chennai coromondel express on Saturday did not board the train on that day.

This leaves five persons from Tamil Nadu who are yet to be traced.

Those who are yet to be traced are Karthik –M (19), Raghunath –M(19), Meena –F(66), Kalpana –F(19) and Arun-M (21).

Tamil Nadu government has requested the relatives of these people to contact the helpline numbers, 044-28593990, 9445869843.

Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary of Odisha told media persons that the number of total dead has been revised to 275. This is following double entries and the Chief Secretary said that of the 275 bodies, 88 have been identified.

It may be noted that Chennai bound, Shalimar- Chennai Coromandel express met with an accident on Saturday near the Bahanga Baazar station in Balasore district in Odisha. Bengaluru- Howrah super fast express towards Howrah and a goods train was also involved in the accident leading to huge casualties.
