Tamil Nadu government has no information of 8 people of the 127 people from the state who have reserved tickets in the Coromandel express that met with an accident in Odisha leading to several deaths.
The eight passengers, Naragani Gopi- M(34), Raghunath –M( 21), Karthik- M (19), Kalpana –F(19), Meena –F (66), Kamal –M(26), Arun –M (21) and A. Jagadeesan –M(47) are those on whom the Tamil Nadu state government did not have any information.
In a statement on Sunday, the government said that the remaining 19 passengers are safe.
The state government communique called upon the relatives of these missing persons to contact the state helpline numbers, 1070, 9445869843.
It may be noted that in one of the biggest tragedies involving train accidents in the country, 288 people lost their lives and 1000 are admitted in various hospitals. The accident occurred at Bahanaga Bazar station in Odisha state during the evening of Saturday.
Several people of the ill fated Coromondel express reached Chennai’s DrMGR central railway station on Sunday morning in a special train. Of this 18 people were grievously injured.
