Southwest monsoon likely to reach today in Kerala

With the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting the arrival of South West monsoon from Sunday, June 4, Kerala is likely to expect heavy rains from today onwards.

With the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting the arrival of South West monsoon from Sunday, June 4, Kerala is likely to expect heavy rains from today onwards.

According to the IMD, the southwest monsoon has advanced to some parts of Lakshadweep and South Arabian sea.

IMD in an alert on Sunday said ,”Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds very likely at isolated places over Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Odisha, Andaman& Nicobar Islands, Kerala and Mahe, with lighting at isolated places over Konkan&Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh& Yanam, Telangana, Rayalseema and Karnataka.”

It may be noted that IMD had predicted heavy rains in Kerala from June 6th.

A Yellow alert is also issued in Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts till Monday.
