Chennai, June 11 (BPNS)
The political slugfest between DMK and BJP continues for the second day after the BJP state president, K. Annamalai retorted to the challenge posed by Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin to Union Home Minister Amit Shah as to what the BJP government at the centre has done to Tamil Nadu during its nine years in power.
Annamalai in a tweeter post on Sunday said that the Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP would respond to Stalin tomorrow on what the DMK government has done for the people of Tamil Nadu since the last two years it has assumed office.
It may be recalled that Stalin had in a public meeting at Salem on Saturday lashed out at the BJP government at the centre and asked as to what the central government had done for Tamil Nadu in the past nine years of its power. He had also said that the BJP was in a defensive mode after the crushing defeat in the Karnataka assembly election.
Stalin also called upon party cadres to win all the 39 loksabha seats in Tamil Nadu and the one seat in Puducherry.
The challenge of Stalin and the counter challenge by Annamalai is during the visit of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah who reached Chennai yesterday late at night. The Union minister will be meeting a group of industrialists at a Gunidy hotel and later in the afternoon, he will be addressing a public meeting highlighting the achievements of the BJP in the past nine years after assuming office at the centre.
