Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin said that he welcomed the statement of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah that a person from Tamil Nadu should become the Prime Minister of the country. He, however, said that the intent of the statement was not understood.
Stalin while speaking to media persons after releasing the Mettur dam waters said that the statement of Amit Shah was welcome. The Chief Minister however said, “ I don’t know why Amit Shah is angry with Prime Minister Modi. He said that he hoped that Tamilsai and L. Murugan would have a chance to become Prime Minister.”
Regarding the release of Mettur dam waters, Stalin said,” In the last two years this government has presented a separate budget for Agriculture and successfully implemented farmer welfare schemes. In particular, implementation of the All Village Scheme through which 23.54 lakh farmers have benefited for far in two years.”
He said that the previous year Kuruvai cultivation was implemented at a cost of Rs 81.12 crore and around 1.5 lakh free electricity connections have been provided to the farmers in a short period of time.
