AIADMK petitions ED,IT dpt to probe against Udayanidhi, Sabareesan on corruption charges

Chennai, June 15 (BPNS)

The principal opposition party of Tamil Nadu, AIADMK has petitioned the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Income Tax department and police to conduct an investigation into the alleged corrupt deals of Udayanidhi Stalin and his brother in law Sabareesan. It may be recalled that in an audio tape allegedly of then Tamil Nadu finance minister, PTR Thiagarajan, there were allegations against Udayanidhi and Sabareesan. This led to the shunting down of PTR Thiagarajan from the powerful post of Finance minister to a relatively light weight portfolio of Information Technology.

Joint secretary of AIADMK legal cell, RM Babu Murugavel, in a petition to the agencies take cognizance and immediate investigation against Udayanidhi Stalin and Sabareesan.

Murugavel said, “ The former finance minister seems to be allegedly confirming that minister Udayanidhi Stalin and his brother-in-law Sabreesan have jointly earned Rs 30,000 crore by way of misappropriation of public money and that the government was handicapped to handle the same.”

The AIADMK seems to have got a shot in its arm after the arrest of Senthil Balaji and is baying for the blood of Udayanihdhi Stalin and indirectly targeting none other than Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
