President of India, Droupadi Murmu called upon
Indian Airforce personnel to adopt an integrated. approach in defence preparedness and be futiristic-ready to face any type of challenge in the days to come.
The President reviewed a colourful Combined Graduation Parade at Air Force Academy, Dindigul on the outskirts of Hyderabad today. This was the first time that the President reviewed a parade in the history of Air Force Academy.
Speaking on the occasion, the President commended the IAF for demonstrating high standards of professionalism, sacrifice and valour during the wars that the country had waged with its adversaries. She said the IAF has been playing a key role in carrying out relief operations during natural calamities and in airlifting victims from conflict zones.
The President appreciated modernisation of IAF by induction of fighter aircraft like Sukhoi -30 and also indigenous production of equipment and weapons under Atma Nirbhar Bharat. She expressed happiness that women were being inducted into all branches of IAF and hoped that their number will increase in the coming days.
On the occasion, Droupdai Murmu asked the Flying Officers who were just commissioned into Air Force to carry forward the rich legacy of IAF and live upto it’s motto “Touch the Sky with Glory”.
Altogether, 119 IAF trainees in flying Branch and 75 trainees in the Ground branch received President’s commission. Eight trainees each from Indian Navy and Coast Guard and two Vietnamese Trainer Officers who have also successfully completed the traini h also received President’s commission on the occasion.
Telangana Governor Dr Tamilsai Sounderrajan, state minister Satyavathi Rathod, Telangana Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari DGP Anjani Kumar, , Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary were also present.
The parade was followed by fly past by Pilatus PC -7 MK II, Chetak, Dornier, Hawk, and Kiran aircraft.
