Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, K. Sudhakaran has said that he will continue as the state Congress chief and that he would not resign. Speaking to media persons, Sudhakaran said that he would file a defamation suit against the CPI-M state secretary, M.V. Govindan and the CPI-M mouthpiece, Deshabhimani on their allegations against his involvement in a POCSO case.
It may be noted that Sudhakaran had offered to quit from the post of KPCC president after he was arrested in a cheating case associated with controversial fake antique dealer, Monson Mavunkal.
Sudhakaran told media persons in Kannur that he will not resign and continue as KPCC president as per the wish of the Congress’s high command.
The KPCC president also said that he would fight the case against the crime branch arrest in the case related to cheating involving the controversial antique dealer.
It may be noted that a few complainants had stated that when they had handed over money to the controversial antique dealer Monson Mavungal, Sudhakaran was present.
It may be noted that Monson Mavunkal who had claimed that he had several antique items in his possession and cheated many people. He had also claimed that he was a trained physician and had medical solutions for skin ailments.
Monson had a huge network of friends that included the then state Director General of Police, Loknath Behra and several other top-ranking bureaucrats, police officers and politicians. Inspector General of Police, G. Lakshman and retired DIG of Police, K. Surendran are also accused along with Sudhakaran in the cheating case involving Monson Mavunkal.
