Chennai, July 16 (BPNS)

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin will leave for Bengaluru on Monday to participate in the meeting of opposition leaders to be held on July 17th and 18th.  A  dinner meeting of all the leaders will be held on Monday evening.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin is emerging as a major voice in opposition unity against the BJP and his presence at Bengaluru is considered very important.

The two day meeting at Bengaluru will host representatives of 24 political parties at Bengaluru.  Tamil Nadu political parties like MDMK, VCK are also participating in the meeting other than the DMK.

It may be noted that this is the second meeting of opposition leaders after the Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United )leader Nitish Kumar initiated such a move after meeting all the senior leaders across the country to unite against the BJP.

The first meeting was held in Patna, the capital of Bihar on June 23. The meeting to be held at Bengaluru on Monday and Tuesday was earlier scheduled to be held on July 12 and 13th but the sudden political crisis in Maharashtra wherein a section of the senior leaders of the NCP led by Ajit Pawar and Praful Patel switched sides and aligned with the BJP. It was a major blow to the opposition unity as Praful Patel had represented NCP in the first meeting of opposition leaders at Patna.
