Senior journalist and one of the noted writers of Kerala, Ullas Sreedhar was given the prestigious ‘Nanma’ award for .journalism constituted by the social and charitable organisation, Karichara Nanma. Ullas is presently working for the Malayalam vernacular, Kerala Kaumudi.
One of the most famous magicians of Kerala, Gopinath Muthukad presented the award to Ullas Sreedhar in a glittering ceremony.
Muthukad in the speech said that the charitable organisation, ‘Nanma’ was doing yeoman service by providing solace and support to the needy people of the society. He said that the organisation was providing support to the tune of Rs 1 crore to those in need. The noted magician congratulated the members of the organisation who were doing the charity service without any fund collection drive from the society and instead was pooling their own resources to provide support and solace to the needy.

In the function, awards were given to students who performed exceedingly well in SSLC examination as well as in Plus Two examinations.
Legal Service Judge, S. Shamnad, Superindendent of Police, Mohammed Shafi,, Dr. Najeeb of Mental Health Centre, Peroorkada, NRI businessman, Advocate Sirajudeen and Office bearers of ‘Nanma’, Karichara Shaji, M. Raseef and M. Faisal spoke during the occasion.
