The Tamil Nadu state secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), r. has called for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take full responsibility on the violence in Manipur and tender an ‘Unconditional apology’ to the people of the country and demanded resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Speaking to Journalists in Tiruchi on Monday, the senior leader said that Union Minister Amit Shah has no moral right to continue in office and hence he demanded his resignation.
The CPI leader said that the opposition parties wanted a discussion in parliament on this serious issue and wanted the Prime Minister to answer in the floor of the house. He charged that while the Prime Minister was visiting several foreign countries and speaking there, he was not willing to speak in Indian parliament on the Manipur issue.
He said that the ruling BJP government at the centre was not keen in controlling the violence at Manipur for political gains and added that the people of the state has no faith in the Chief Minister and the BJP government in the state.
The CPI leader said that the ruling government in Manipur should go and President’s rule is imposed in the state to create confidence in the minds of the people.
