Tamil Nadu forest department captured a wild elephant that was regularly raiding crops at Kadambur hills by tranquilizing it. The elephant which is around 40 years of age was later translocated to  Talamalai forest range in Sathyamangalam Division of Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve (STR). The elephant was located at a plot of land along the Kadambur- Pavalakittai road and veterinarians S. Sadasivam and A. Prakash fired four darts on the elephant and it was captured and during early morning hours was translocated to Talamalai forest in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve.
