A 16 year old girl who was waiting at a bus shelter at Medvakam bus shelter was stabbed by a youth who was a friend of her. Police said that the youth had managed to escape from the scene and police is on pursuit to nab the culprit. The youth identified as Vasanth of Injimbakkam ran away from the spot.
The girl who is hailing from Kalaignar street in Perumbakkam was waiting at the Medavakkam bus shelter to go to her college in Vandalur.
A young man who was known to her and considered a friend took her to a secluded place near the bus stand and told her about his love for her. The girl did not reciprocate and angry at the denial, he stabbed her with a knife on her face and body. The girl received grievous injuries and Police shifted her to Stanly Medical College after preliminary treatment at Government Chrompet hospital.
A case has been charged against Vasanth and the police is on the look out for him.
