Chennai, Sept 20 (BPNS)
Tamil Nadu minister for Sports and youth Affairs, Udhayanidhi Stalin has again come out against Sanatana Dharma even after his earlier statement has racked up a major controversy across the nation.
Udhayanidhi while speaking to media persons on Wednesday said that eliminating Sanatana Dharma would lead to destroying Untouchability.
The young DMK leader who is also the son of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said, “We say that Sanatana Dharma should be abolished only to abolish untouchability. I believe that if Sanatana is destroyed, Untouchability will also be destroyed.”
He was responding to the Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi’s statement on social discrimination in the state.
It may be noted that Udhayanidhi Stalin had earlier said that Sanatana Dharma was like mosquitoes, dengue ,malaria and Corona and has to be eradicated. This has led to a major controversy across the nation with the BJP quickly taking this up as a call for Hindu genocide.
BJP IT cell head, Amit Malaviya had in a tweet said that the DMK leader had called for a genocide of the Hindu population which is 80% of the total population of the country.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah had also publicly said that Udhayanidhi Stalil was promoting genocide against Hindu community in speeches in North India.
However after the I.N.D.I.A. constituents came out against the statement, the DMK went on the backfoot and Stalin publicly said that the BJP and NDA we trying to provoke the opposition using Sanatana Dharma and that the discussion should be on corruption of the Modi government. He also cited CAG reports and called for a fight on corruption against the BJP, NDA combine.
