The Principal opposition party of Tamil Nadu , the AIADMK has broken all its ties with the BjP and NDA. A high level meeting of the AIADMK held in its state head quarters on Monday announced the snapping of ties with the saffron outfit in Tamil Nadu.
A day after the AIADMK snapped it’s aliance with the BJP , party cadres and middle level leaders are exuberant at the party leadership decision.
K. Selvaraj, an ardent supporter of AIADMK from Tiruchi in Tamil Nadu told BPNS that it was high time the party cut its relationship with the BJP . Speaking to BPNS, Selvaraj who is also a garment shop owner said ,” AIADMK aid a Dravidian political party and snapping of ties with a political outfit that does not have any common ground with us is quite good. We will get lot of support from all classes in Tamil Nadu.”
He further said that AIADMK is a political party with deep rooted cadre base across Tamil Nadu and with proven electoral credentials while BJP is still a non Entity in the state.
Immediately after KP Munusamy , the party Deputy coordinator announced the snapping of ties in front of the party state committee office , the workers went jubilant and fire crackers were burst to express happiness.
The AIADMK will get the support of the Muslim community and a large number of Dalit and OBCs also will support the party as it has now severed ties
With the BJP.
R.Swaminathan , social activist and Gandhian leader from Madurai while speaking with BPNS said “ AIADMK has taken a brilliant political move and now that party can get the benefit of ani incumbency in Tamil Nadu as well as in the centre and its advantage AIADMK .”
Sources in the AIADMK told BPNS that in the state office bearers and district secretaries level meeting at the party headquarters on Monday , not a single leader opposed the resolution moved for snapping of ties with the BJP.
A district secretary of AIADMK who does not wants to be named while speaking to BPNS said ,” at the grass root level , we have a clear feed back that we are in a much advantageous position after snapping ties with the BJP and our cadres are jubilant.”
He further adds,” after insults were showered on the Dravidian pride, CN Annadurai and our beloved leader J. Jayalalithaa , there is no point in continuing an alliance with the BJP.”
Sources in the AIADMK told BPNS that several political party leaders have expressed support to the decision taken by the party state leadership.
It may be noted that BJP will have to do some serious introspection and look out for fresh allies to stay afloat in the murky politics of Tamil Nadu.
