Mathura, May 21
Dr J.C. Chaudhry, the visionary Founder of Aakash Institute, has lauded Rotarian Lal Goel for his tireless efforts in promoting organ donation across the globe. The recognition came during a special felicitation ceremony held at Maa Saraswati Hospital, Mathura.
Rotarian Lal Goel serves as the Charter President of the Rotary Club of Organ Donation International and is also the Chairman of Organ Donation India Foundation and GYAN. His unwavering commitment to spreading awareness about organ donation has garnered national and international appreciation.
With an illustrious career spanning 48 years in education, Dr Chaudhry has influenced the lives of hundreds of thousands of students. His journey from being a teacher to becoming one of India’s most successful academic entrepreneurs is inspiring. In 1988, he founded Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), which went on to revolutionize India’s test-preparatory coaching sector. Under his visionary leadership, Aakash Institute rose to become a premier educational brand. In 2021, the institute was acquired by BYJU’S in a landmark deal worth nearly $1 billion (₹7,500 crore), one of the largest acquisitions in the Indian education sector.
Dr Chaudhry’s philanthropic and spiritual pursuits continue alongside his contributions to education. His latest initiative includes the development of a religious complex in Mathura called “Char Dham,” which brings together four major Hindu pilgrimage sites—Shiv Dham, Radha Krishna Dham, Shani Dham, and Vaishno Devi Dham. This unique facility allows devotees to experience the spiritual essence of these revered locations without having to travel extensively.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by several notable personalities including Rotarian Deepak Goel, President of the Senior Citizen Welfare Society, Mathura, who welcomed Dr Chaudhry and shared the mission of the Rotary Club of Organ Donation International. Other dignitaries present at the event included Mrs Asha Goel, Rtn Ritika Gupta (CEO of Maa Saraswati Hospital), Rtn Gautam Goel (Chairman of GYAN ITI Institutions, Aligarh), and Rtn Lal Goel.
The event underscored a shared commitment to social welfare, education, and health awareness.
