DVAC seize 34 lakh rs, US dollars, luxury cars, gold, diamond, and silver from former AIADMK minister

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) conducted raids at 35 places belonging to former commercial taxes minister and AIADMK leader K.C. Veeramani have seized several valuables including Indian rupees, US dollars, luxury cars (including Rolls Royce), gold, diamond, and silverware.

The DVAC in a statement on Thursday said that Indian rupees worth 34 lakhs, US dollars worth 1.80 lakh rupees, 9 luxury cars including one Rolls Royce, 4.987 Kg of Gold, 47 gms of diamonds, and 7.2 kg of silver articles among others were seized in the raids conducted simultaneously at the former minister’s premises and premises and residences of  his close associates and friends.

 Raids were conducted at 2 places in Bangaluru, 6 places in Chennai which include residences belonging to K.C. Veeramani, his close associates and his friends.

275 units of sand worth Rs 30 lakhs was also found deposited in the residential premises of K.C. Veeramani and the DVAC in a statement said that in addition to this several bank passbooks, land documents were also seized from his residential premises.

DVAC said that further investigation in the case is on.

After former transport minister and AIADMK leader M.R. Vijayabhaskar and former Minister and AIADMK leader, S.P.Velumani’s premises were raided by the DVAC, K.C. Veeramani is the third AIADMK leader and former minister whose premises were raided.

Veeramani or no AIADMK leader was available for comment even after repeated queries.
