Fresh Covid cases dip in all districts of TN

Tamil Nadu Public health department in a statement said that the fresh Covid -19 cases in the state were coming down with all the districts of the state showing a reduction in the number of fresh cases compared to the previous days.

The state reported 22,238 fresh Covid -19 cases in the 24 hours ending on Sunday evening. On Saturday the number of fresh Covid cases was 24,418 while on Friday the number of fresh cases was 26,533.

Chennai which was showing a higher number of cases also recorded the steepest decline in fresh cases. On Sunday, Chennai reported 3998 fresh Covid cases while on Saturday the number of fresh cases was 4508.

Coimbatore which reported the second-highest number of cases in the state also showed a major dip. The city reported 2865 fresh Covid -19 cases when compared to Saturday when the number of fresh cases was 3309.

Perambalur reported the least number of cases with 52 cases followed by Myladuthurai with 98 and Vellore with 110 fresh cases.

Tamil Nadu health minister Ma Subramanian while speaking to BPNS said,” The state is reporting a dip in the number of cases and these are good signs. The state public health department is trying its best to curtail the number of cases and the results are there to be seen. Anyway, people have to be on guard and they should wear masks, maintain social distancing and sanitize and wash hands regularly.”
