Tamil Nadu minister for MSME , T N Anbarasan said that MSME’s output forms one-third of the total production in the country.
He said that the MSMEs are doing very well in the automotive, leather, telecommunication, biotechnology and nanotechnology sectors.
Out of the US$112 billion in engineering exports last year, Tamil Nadu accounted for US$16 billion. Tamil Nadu is in second place among the States for engineering production in the country and is the third largest exporter of engineering goods.
The minister said , In the last budget, the Chief Minister allocated Rs. 4,617 crores for industrial development. Tamil Nadu is setting up ten export centres to the tune of Rs. 100 crores. We set up 5 industrial estates to the value of Rs. 171.24 crores. The Single Window Portal 2.0 received 12, 113 applications out of which 10,940 were given.

Capuchin church priest and Editor of Indian Currents weekly, Father Dr.Suresh Mathew said that Arch Bishop Joseph Pamplany’s statement cannot be accepted as the stand of the Christians in Kerala, though there have been attempts by Christian leaders to align with the BJP. He was speaking to BPNS.

A single bench of the Madras High Court on Sunday said that he will hear the petition against the AIADMK general secretary elections on March 22 and the verdict on whether elections are to conducted will be given on March 24. The elections to the AIADMK general secretary are scheduled for March 26 and counting will be given on March 27.
The single judge of the Madras High Court asked why the election was announced when a case related to the resolutions was pending in the court.. Justice Kumaresh Babu of the Madras High Court however said that all election procedures can be conducted.
The Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) side during the argument said that the voter list of the party was long prepared and that the party cannot function without conducting elections.
The EPS side also argued in the court that in a party with a 1.5 crore cadre, not even one percent supported the deposed coordinator of the party, O. Panneerselvam (OPS). The EPS faction also said that the court cannot interfere in intra-party affairs.

The Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam will be celebrated in Gujarat from April 17 to 26. The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers ,Mansukh Mandavaya thanked the people of Tamil Nadu for sheltering thousands of Saurashtrians who had come as migrants from Gujarat to Tamil Nadu.
The minister also thanked Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for planning the event similar to that of Kasi Tamil sangamam held recently.
Manuskh Mandaviya said that the Sangamam would display the historic link between Somnath and Rameshwaram.
