Thiruvananthapuram, August 22 (BPNS)

For the Kerala Police, the week has started on a negative note. A couple of incidents reported from separate station limits in the state have brought embarrassment to the force.

The first incident has been reported from the capital city itself. In Thiruvananthapuram, in broad daylight, two unidentified men gave the police the slip as one of them flashed a gun at a police officer who tried to catch them.

As per reports, the men, who were suspected to be thieves, were first caught by the locals at Edapazhinji, when they were spotted coming from a locked house. The men escaped from the scene in their gearless scooter after flashing a gun at the locals. Though the Vanchiyoor Police located them, they again escaped by flashing a gun at the police.

The second incident has been reported from Guruvayoor Police Station in Kandanassery of Thrissur district. It witnessed some dramatic scenes on Monday.

A middle-aged man first hit its entrance gate with his car, then tried to unleash his domesticated dog towards the personnel to attack them and then with a hoe that he brought with him pulled down the entrance gate and tried to attack the personnel.

All these because he was summoned to the station.

According to police, the attacker, Vincent, a resident of Koonammuchi, has now been arrested on non-bailable charges.

“A complaint was received against him. To inquire about it he was summoned. But he created scenes here. It is suspected that he was in an inebriated state. We had to use force to bring him control,” said a police officer at the station.

At the same time, the video of the attack has gone viral. It is also said that Vincent had manhandled a police officer in between the happenings. It is also learned that 15 years ago Vincent was charged for attacking a police officer during a church festival.
