MGR fan sends bomb threat letter to AIR, Coimbatore for not airing his songs on his birthday

An unidentified fan of matinee idol and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, late MG Ramachandran has sent a bomb threat in a postcard to the All India Radio station, Coimbatore for not airing his songs on his 105th birthday. The birthday celebrations of the late actor, politician were on January 17th.

The officials received the letter on Thursday and lodged a complaint with the Ramanathapuram police. The letter in postcard stated that the AIR station had broadcasted actor Rajanikanth’s movie songs on his birthday but failed to do so on the birthday of MGR.

The unidentified person, according to Ramanathapuram police also threatened that a petrol bomb would be hurled at AIR station, Coimbatore.

After the AIR staff lodged a formal complaint, the Ramanathapuram police took procession of the letter and deployed two policemen as security to the Radio station.

Ramanathapuram police said that investigation is on and that the letter would have been sent by a die-hard fan of the late actor.
