“No shortage of vaccine at any point of time in Puducherry”, Lt. Governor

Lt. Governor of Puducherry, Tamilisai Soundaraajan has said that there was no shortage of vaccines at any point in time in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

The Lt. Governor was addressing students of the Bharathidasan government college for women. Tamilisai said that the Union territory is in fast-forward mode to vaccinate the whole eligible population of the territory by August 15,synchronising with the 75th Independence day celebrations of the country.

The Lt. Governor called upon the Youths to become the brand ambassadors of vaccination and added that vaccination makes one stronger against a pandemic like Covid -19.

She called upon the people to come forward voluntarily to vaccinate themselves and to motivate others and recalled that while she had got her first jab at Puducherry, she got inoculated her second dose with the tribal population of Telangana where also she is in charge as Governor.

Tamilisai Soundararajan said that she took her second dose of vaccine amongst the tribal population of Telangana as she came to know that there was some hesitancy on the part of the tribals in that area and to convince them she took the jab along with them.

The Puducherry Lt Governor also said that the government of the Union Territory of Puducherry has implemented a special scheme to supply natal kits to pregnant women and said that the kit consisted of health mix powder, ghee, and protein biscuits.
