Painting exhibition in Coimbatore highlights one year of DMK government

Chennai, May 19 (BPNS)

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin on Thursday inaugurated a unique painting exhibition highlighting the one year achievements of the DMK government in office.

The exhibition other than highlighting the achievements of the government is also presenting the archeological findings after excavations were carried out at Keeladi, Porunai, Kodumanal and Myladumparai at Coimbatore.

130 exhibits are being presented at the exhibition on the achievements of the DMK government since it assumed office on May 7, 2021.

The archeological section of the exhibition displayed a three dimensional model of the sites where important discoveries were made and stucco art replicating the models.

The Adichanallur section had exhibits that portrayed the timeline of excavations, maps and photographs of important findings. The Sivakalai section had an exhibit of the aerial view of the Sri Moolakarai burial ground and the brick structure found in Korkai.

The Myladumparai section depicts how ancient the site was and its antiquity compared to other important sites in the country. This section also has displays showing the original findings including earthenware used in last rites.

As far as the section of painting was concerned it was seen that most of the painters who had highlighted the achievements of the one year of Stalin government were school students.

 Paintings on free power connections to one lakh farmers, Chief Minister’s inspection of Sri Lankan refugee camps, Chief Minister distributing relief materials to people at health camp were the prominent pictures on display.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin ,his wife Durga Stalin and senior cabinet colleagues were present at the exhibition.
