A woman identified as Farzana tried to immolate herself in front of the residence of Tamil Superstar, Ajith alleging that she lost her job as a nurse in a private hospital after she took a video of the Superstar and his actor wife Shalini who had visited the hospital.

The incident occurred on Monday evening.

The woman who was employed as a staff nurse in a private hospital reportedly took a video of Ajit and Shalini while they were paying a visit to the hospital. The hospital management had dismissed her from service after finding that she had uploaded the video of the celebrity couple. The video had turned viral and the hospital management took dismissed her citing that she had violated the employment rules and breaking it.

The woman told police that she approached the actor’s wife Shalini to help her get the job back but reportedly did not get support from her.

The woman reached in front of the actor’s residence on Monday evening with another woman and the police personal posted there tried to pacify her. But, police said that she suddenly screamed and said that it was due to Ajit that she had lost her job and poured kerosene over her head in a bid to immolate herself.

Police and passerby caught hold of her and poured water over her. She was arrested and taken to the police station and given counseling. However, police sources told BPNS that no case was registered against her.
