A Covid -19 helpline “Saarathi” for the trucking community was launched to provide Covid consultation, vaccination guidance, and non- Covid consultation. The helpline, according to a statement issued was launched on Tuesday jointly by the Appolo Tyres and Ashok Leyland for truck drivers, helpers, and cleaners of the trucks and their family members.
The helpline service is available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, and Assamese languages. To avail of the services, the members of the trucking community can call on 7028105333 between 10 am and 5 pm on Monday to Saturday.
Trucking community members who have tested Covid -19 positive and are in-home quarantine can get Doctor’s consultation by calling on the helpline and they can get guidance on nutrition during the infection period. The helpline will also provide doctor consultation and prescription as part of the “Saarathi” initiative even for non- Covid 19 patients.
The truck drivers, helpers, and others from the trucking community who are seeking guidance for vaccination will be provided with counseling to clear their doubts regarding the vaccine. The helpline will also help for registering in Cowin/ Arogya Setu portal including providing appointments at the nearby hospitals.
