Shobha Karandalaje, Member of Parliament and powerful leader of BJP from Karnataka has single handedly turned the tables for party leader and former Kerala state president PK Krishnadas who is fighting a tight three cornered battle with sitting MLA and CPM leader IB Satheesh and Malayankeezhu Venugopal of the Indian National Congress.
Shobha who is the Saha Prabhari for the constituency camped at Kattakada for days around and went for door to door campaigning across the constituency.
Ranjith Nair, Private Secretary to PK Krishnadas while speaking to Bharath Post said,” Shobhaji was down to earth through out the campaign and she went around with local workers and leaders to have a direct interaction with the people of the constituency and had went around several homes to meet voters directly.”
The Shobha factor seems to have worked around for Krishnadas as the Member of Parliament had even forced the workers to take a detailed and micro level management of booths.
BJP leaders in the constituency also vouched that she was clear and focused on the goal of winning the seat and for that she did not allow workers even one moment of rest and comfort.
A BJP leader of the constituency who does not want to be named while speaking to Bharathpost said,” Indeed she was awesome and very tough. She knew each and every area of the constituency within days of assuming charge and was then working tirelessly for the victory of our candidate PK Krishnadas.”
The senior leader from Karnataka who was a former minister in the Yedyurappa cabinet had worked tirelessly in the constituency and had stayed till late night and retired for the day after meeting each and every booth in charge of the constituency. This was a dedicated and systematic work carried out by the BJP under the leadership of the dynamic women leader of Karnataka.
It is to be noted that Bharathpost.com had earlier reported on Krishnadas emerging as the dark horse in the constituency and as days went by the chances of the BJP leader has become bright.
Ranjith Nair says, “ Shobaji was a big influence for our team and she is a great motivator who inspired the party cadres to work to the hilt. Her style was totally different and it will be a crucial factor as far as the victory of Krishnadasji is concerned.”
With the Poll percentage touching high, the possibilities of Krishnadas getting elected is high. Highly placed sources in the state intelligence are of the opinion that BJP will create an upset victory at Kattakada.
